Global Sustainability Summer School 2011 in Brunei Darussalam

In conjunction to the celebration of University Brunei Darussalam (UBD)’s 25th Anniversary and 100th Anniversary of IBM, they are now opening a recruitment for Global Sustainability Summer School. The school will provide an opportunity for students and speakers across the globe to engage each other in addressing the challenge of applying and adapting “broader principles of sustainability to locale-specific” solutions.

The two-week (10 working days) program will explore sustainability from the technology perspective with a particular focus on modeling and analysis. The program will also include hands-on demonstrations, interactive sections, field trips (to a pristine rainforest region) and group projects in addition to traditional lecture-style presentations.

Below are the general requirements for this program:
Applicants are welcome from all countries, solicited from advanced graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, junior and senior faculty discipline, as well as individuals from government agencies and the private sector, women minorities and students from developing countries are especially encouraged to apply.

Current resume or curriculum vitae: include a clear description of your current educational/professional status & list of publications (if any),
A statement of your current research interests and comments about why you want to attend the program, 1 – 2 pages in length,
Two letters of recommendation from faculty (for graduate student applications) or professional colleagues (for all other applicants). When you apply online please be prepared to provide e-mail addresses of the two individuals who will recommend you
No tuition is charged, 100% of housing and meals are covered. However, students are expected to provide their own travel funding.

Applications must be received by 22 April 2011 in Office of International Affairs UGM.
